Petition for honest, professional police
No parent should have to worry about whether their teenage daughter will get home safely if she walks alone.
Crime is rising but the South African Police Service (SAPS) is riddled with corruption and unable to fight it.
We need change.
Sign this petition to call for a DA-led government that has a plan to overhaul our police service so that it is honest and professional.
We will focus on:
- Fighting corruption within the police.
- Re-training police officers to serve and protect with pride.
- Hiring people with a passion for policing.
- Starting an effective drug-busting force within the SAPS.
- Ensuring that law and order is maintained in our communities, and that there are effective arrests, prosecutions and convictions of criminals.
And in crime hotspots like Nyanga, which is “the murder capital of South Africa”, or in Westbury, Umlazi or Helenvale, where your daughter has a chance of getting hit by a gangster’s stray bullet, we will send the army now!
No South African should live in fear where they live.
